While no one can guarantee a solution for your personal needs, the University of Montana emphasizes helping students find and access well-being resources to balance the feelings that weigh you down.
UM focuses on Eight Dimensions of Well-Being, spanning from mental to physical, financial, emotional, spiritual and beyond. With these in mind, check out some of the ways and places to find well-being on campus and within our community:
Curry Health Center – Relaxation Station

The Curry Health Center is a one-stop shop on campus for medical, dental and counseling resources. This includes same-day services and a Wellness Wall full of free grab-and-go items. Curry Health Center is also home to the increasingly popular Relaxation Station – a quiet haven and support sanctuary where you can catch your breath and melt away from the world.

Group Exercise Classes

Yoga, dance, fitness and cycling classes are free and available to all students through Campus Recreation. Get your sweat going, connect with other participants and the instructor through these group fitness classes, and feel better once you leave the studio. Keep an eye out on GrizHub for other group fitness activities, like Yoga in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

Increase Your Social Circle

Finding your crew is an important part of the college experience. Yes, it is fun. But just as importantly, a solid social circle is key to maintaining a healthy life. It’s not always as simple as it sounds, but our campus supports and encourages a friendly community around every corner.

Assessments, one-on-one consultations and loads of career prep are available to every student starting day one of their education.

Find Your Spirituality

Spiritual health is an inner sense of purpose, meaning, and connection to something larger than yourself. Whatever that means to you, we have on-campus resources to help you find it. From religious groups to hiking groups, philosophy classes and the Annual Kyiyo Pow Wow Celebration, we encourage you to find greater meaning on campus. There’s no finish line to finding your spiritually, but you’ll find plenty of mile markers and sign posts across campus.

Find Your Favorite Hiking Trail

There’s no shortage of hiking trails in Missoula. From thigh-busting inclines up Mount Sentinel to pleasant strolls along the Clark Fork River – it’s unbelievable how just a little time spent outside can clear your head. Follow your favorite hiking trail or discover something new, spend five minutes or the entire afternoon, just don’t forget to bring some water and snacks.

A membership to the gym facilities at Campus Rec is included with your tuition. Take advantage of this sprawling space and state-of-the-art exercise equipment to get your blood pumping and your dopamine flowing.
