An Extrovert's Guide to UM

Calling all extroverts, outgoing persons and social butterflies. UM is the place for you. With a ton of events, organizations and over 10,000 other students and faculty to meet, the campus is an extroverted playground of activity and people to be around.

Griz Hub

Griz Hub is the one-stop-shop for all your activity needs! Griz Hub has information on every UM organization and upcoming event. You can follow organizations that you’re passionate about, read about how UM is connected to the community, and look at all the events that are happening both at UM and around Missoula.

Student Clubs

At the University of Montana, there are so many student clubs to join, and students can also create their own club for their specific interest, skill, or hobby. Student clubs can help students find others at UM who share a common interest and want to explore and experience those interests with others.

You can join so many different clubs at UM. Some examples are: Badminton Club, Bug Club, French Club, Grizzly Stomp, Investment Club, Neuroscience Club, and many more! There are clubs for everyone at UM that foster a community of students who share similar interests and can have fun with other UM students together.

Club Sports

The University of Montana currently has 21 club sports for students to join. Club sports are great ways to spend time being active and playing the sports you love while getting a healthy competitive rush. There are over 1,200 students involved in club sports, and you could be as well!

UM has many different club sports for students to join. These range from hockey, rugby, ultimate frisbee, to woodsman team and rodeo! Students can start new club sports at UM as well and can qualify them as either co-ed sports, or men's and women's sports. Club sports are a great way to get active and spend time with friends.

Zoo Crew

Zoo Crew is the student section at UM, and students can become a Zoo Crew member to get exclusive access to bonuses from sponsorships and game participation. Students can join Zoo Crew to meet fellow Griz superfans who can help you get riled up for a Griz football game. Being part of the Zoo Crew creates opportunities for students to come together as one Griz Nation.

Marching Band

Another incredible way to meet people and spend time with friends is to join the Grizzly Marching Band! In the GMB, students from every major get together to play music and have fun. The GMB is an inclusive space for people of any previous musical experience to work on marching skills, leadership, collaboration, and to fully express themselves and make friends.

Esports

Are you an extrovert who loves to play video games? Join UM Esports! Located in the UC Gaming Den, the Esports team is quickly growing and members play, compete and work together to make one of the most inclusive communities on campus.

Madison Knapp Headshot-1-1Madison Knapp is a student at the University of Montana, majoring in creative writing with a minor in French. She is an out-of-state student from Bellingham, Washington, and has thoroughly enjoyed her time at UM. She is also a DHC student and a proud member of the Grizzly Marching Band.
