So please remember to have your student account balance paid in full before you leave for the summer.

New Course Numbering System starting Fall 2009

The subject abbreviations are new, the number designations are new, and in some cases even the title of the course has changed. • July 3 – Independence Day holiday observed. No classes held.
• August 31 – Fall 2009 semester classes begin.

Tutoring Services
February 6th, 2008 by bf159381eThroughout spring semester, Study Jam will be available at the UC Commons. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30, the UC Commons will be open with study group tables staffed by professional tutors in various subject areas, including Statistics (Math 241), Spanish (101, 102, 201, 202), Chemistry (151, 152, 161, 162), Biology (100, 108), Economics (111 and 112) and Physics (121, 122). Individual students and study groups can gather and obtain help as needed. Click here for the schedule breakdown of study tables by subject and time. The Writing Center
The Writing Center, located in Liberal Arts (LA) 144, provides free tutoring from 9 am - 5 pm. Appointments are required. Check the Writing Center for available times. Graduate level students provide assistance with a variety of writing issues.
*This service is not for English students only. Papers for any discipline can benefit from the Writing Center.
Math Pilot
Math PILOT is a joint venture of the Office of the Provost, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Its goal is to improve student performance in 100-level mathematics at The University. Math PiLOT offers day and night drop-in tutoring, placement testing, and individual counseling for the struggling math student. Career Services
February 6th, 2008 by bf159381eCareer Services located in LC 154 gives students (freshman – senior) a leg up in the fast track professional world. Students can prepare for post-graduation by utilizing Career Services to help build a resume with summer jobs and volunteer work while exploring career opportunities. They even house a library of information on potential careers and best fit university majors. Career Services has a program called Ask-an-Alum, which provides students the opportunity to contact former UM students to ask questions about their career choices.
TRIO-SSS
February 6th, 2008 by bf159381eThe TRIO-Student Support Services program is located in Lommasson Center (LC) 154. TRIO provides eligible students with a variety of resources, such as a 2-credit course in study skills (C&I 160), academic advising, help with financial aid issues, and tutoring opportunities. TRIO eligibility is based on income (similar to Pell Grant eligibility guidelines), parent’s education (neither parent completed 4-year college degree), and/or documented student disability.
