Banner and FTP maintenance: 8/3, 5 p.m.

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Banner will go down on Monday August 3, from 5:00 p.m. until midnight. This includes ADMN, CyberBear, REPORT, TEST7, HCADMIN, HCTST7, FINDW, UMDW, AUADMN, and AUTST7. CyberBear will go down about 4:45 p.m.

In addition, the anonymous FTP server (ftp.umt.edu) will go down for maintenance on Monday, August 3, 5:00 p.m. However, downtime will be minimal – lasting under 1 hour.

Network outages 7/22, 5:10-6:20 a.m.

There will be a number of short network outages on Wednesday, July 22 beginning at 5:10 a.m. and continuing through 6:20 a.m. The outages will be in the following order:

From 5:10 a.m. to 5:40 a.m.

  1. UM to/from the Internet, Internet 2, State of Montana, MSU, will be unavailable for approximately 12 minutes (including home VPN users)
  2. Access to and from all remote campus locations will be unavailable for approximately 6 minutes
  3. All buildings south of Oval network outage for approximately 6 minutes (except dorms)

From 6 a.m. to 6:20 a.m.

  1. Exchange email system on the main campus will be taken off line to prevent damage to mail system
  2. All buildings north of Oval network outage for approximately 6 minutes (except dorms)
  3. LA basement server room (all servers and services will be unavailable during this time) approximately 6 minutes
  4. Exchange email system will be brought back up online (should be available again by 6:20 a.m.)
