To keep pace with Oracle and Banner software upgrades as well as other vendor software advances, IT is implementing a new Java Plug-in (JPI) for UM Banner (ADMN and HCADMN). Java is implemented as an Active X control and is necessary in order for Banner to run. The current plug-in, the Oracle JInitiator, is being replaced with Java Plug-in version 1.6.0.13, which is the most current version of Java’s plug-ins.
By noon on Thursday, June 25, all Banner users will need to have downloaded the new Java Plug-in before Banner will function for them. Users most be logged in as a local administrator on their computer in order to install the plug-in.
