Campus Internet outage: Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 6-7a.m.

The University of Montana’s internet service provider, Pacific Northwest Gigapop, is initiating a campus Internet outage on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2007, from 6:00am MDT until 7:00am MDT. If necessary, IT network engineers will then test and troubleshoot any problems that may occur that are associated with the changes made during the outage. We expect full Internet connectivity to be restored by 8:00am. The outage will affect the following UM campus locations: Missoula, Butte, Dillon, Helena, FLBS, and Lubrecht Forest. The Missoula, Butte and Dillon dorms will not be impacted by the outage.

IT courses cover classroom technology

Through the IT short course training program, UM Online will offer two sessions in November to help instructors improve use of technology in the classroom. On Thursday, Nov. 8, Keith Lynip, UM Online director, will provide training designed for instructors using Blackboard as a supplement to their face-to-face courses. Two sessions will be offered: one from 9am to 10:15am and another from 10:30am to 11:45am. The sessions will be held in Liberal Arts Room 139.
